It is one of the biggest bands in Jazz, Rhythm and Blues of the last century, is a band if you mean on a personal or character that stands out is the trumpet player, singer and composer Herbert "Herb" Alpert, the rest are added components selected by him, the name comes from a trip to Mexico in the city of Tijuana did in the 50's by Herb where listening to a mariachi band, his discography starts in 1962 and since then inanello hits and classics comprasa this song.
"A Taste of Honey" is a classic jazz of the 60s and after hearing it you can not put it to not remember it, was written in 1960 by Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow and recorded in 1961 by pianist Martin Denny, who won a Grammy for "Best Instrumental Theme", part of the eponymous musical that tells the story of a young white woman who gets pregnant after a one night stand with a sailor black, his best friend who is a gay man, he agrees to help her raise the child.
Great stir made the cover of the LP, a girl covered only cream! |
Herb the register in 1965 for the album Whipped Cream & Other Delights becoming the biggest hit of the band, the year after the Grammy winning scoops in three different categories: "Best Instrumental Arrangement"; "Best Jazz Instrumental Album" and the very important album of the year.
There's also several cover this song sung, the most famous was the Beatles contained in the very first album "Please, Please Me" in 1963, that of Tony Bennett in 1964.

Being a heading on video, what are we waiting, the video is for the year following the publication, shot on the success of the Grammy, the video appears to be one of the most brilliant of the time, a girl in slow motion prepares to run to who knows who but Herb complete with a trumpet in his hand obscures the girl, while we see it running on a beach at sunset but the best comes after that is the set of the whole orchestra playing on the beach and the cliffs, a real honey flavor, original and well shot, enjoy!
